Read · Learn · Grow · Belong
Flamingos are born gray and earn their pink through what they eat. Readers grow the same way. Gray2Pink is a year-round program where children earn their color one book at a time — and watch it happen.
Every gift is tax-deductible through LEEF · 100% reaches the mission
Knowledge changes lives.
Books are logged as they are finished. Nothing is timed, nothing is ranked against another child. The only comparison is to the reader you were last month.
Volume moves a reader up a five-tier ladder. Each tier is a real, announced milestone — a color earned, not assigned.
Book vending machine access waits at the top of the ladder. A child who reaches it walks away owning a book they chose themselves.
Five tiers, each one earned. A reader starts gray like every flamingo does, and colors in as the reading accumulates.
Book vending machine access is unlocked at the top of the ladder.
Every gift is made to the Lewis Educational Enrichment Foundation and is tax-deductible. Gray2Pink runs year-round, so steady support matters more than any single season.
A one-time gift buys books for the vending machine and keeps the ladder's top rung real. Give what you can, once, and the readers do the rest.
Give to Gray2PinkAnnual members fund all three LEEF programs, which is what lets us commit to a full school year of reading rather than one season at a time.
Join Friends of LEEFSchools, businesses, and families partner with us as collection sites. In-kind gifts of books are receipted the same as cash.

Gray2Pink is operated by LEEF student interns — high schoolers who manage the book drives, steward the donors, and produce the events. They don't shadow adults doing the work. They do the work, under a supervisor an employer can call and confirm.
Gray2Pink is a program of the Lewis Educational Enrichment Foundation, Inc. — an independent 501(c)(3) public charity developing youth literacy, confidence, and leadership across Arizona's East Valley.
